Where is the app? I can't find it.

Battery Beggar is a menu bar app — it lives in the top-right area of your screen, not in the Dock. Look for a battery icon in the menu bar. Click it to open the main interface.

How do I enable notifications?

Open Battery Beggar's settings (click the icon, then Settings), and set the delivery mode to "Notifications" or "Notifications + Voice." If prompted, allow notifications in System Settings. If Battery Beggar isn't listed in System Settings → Notifications, try restarting the app.

How do I change the personality or voice?

In Settings, you can pick a personality pack under "Personality" and choose a voice under "Voice" (visible when "Notifications + Voice" is selected). Hit "Preview Voice" to hear it before committing.

How do I hide Apple's built-in battery icon?

Go to System Settings → Control Center, find "Battery," and set it to "Don't Show in Menu Bar." Battery Beggar will then be your sole battery indicator.

The app doesn't react when I unplug.

Reactions trigger when the battery crosses specific thresholds (50%, 25%, 15%, 10%, 5%). If you unplug at 80%, you won't see a reaction until the battery drains to 50%. Make sure personality is enabled in Settings.

Can I use it as just a battery monitor?

Yes. Turn off "Enable personality and reactions" in Settings. Battery Beggar becomes a clean, silent battery utility.

Does Battery Beggar collect any data?

No. Zero data is collected, stored, or transmitted. Everything runs locally on your Mac. See our Privacy Policy for details.
